Virtual Ceremonies

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no in-person first day ceremonies were held between March 4, 2020 (Arnold Palmer) and May 17, 2021 (Heritage Breeds).

Starting with the American Gardens stamp issued on May 13, 2020 virtual video ceremonies were held for all new US stamps. Most virtual ceremonies have been produced by the USPS. The American Gardens ceremony was produced by the American Public Gardens Association. The Voices of the Harlem Renaissance ceremony was produced by the American Philatelic Society (APS) and the Ebony Society of Philatelic Events and Reflections (ESPER). The virtual ceremonies for Innovation and Thank You were produced by the APS, the American First Day Cover Society (AFDCS) and the American Topical Association (ATA).

These virtual ceremony videos are viewable at any time on Facebook and/or YouTube. Download the pdf from the link below to view a list of links to the virtual ceremonies held to date. This list will be updated as additional information becomes available (latest update September 11, 2023.)

With the return of in-person ceremonies for the Heritage Breeds stamps on May 17, 2021 the USPS still continues to provide ceremony related videos.
